A SANCTIFIED AND SPIRIT LED SEPARATION 3
The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them. Proverbs 12:26
In our last blog entry, we considered the call to remove ourselves from insidious influences that infects us with iniquity and consequently chill our communion with the Lord. We have already accepted and aligned ourselves with the truth that BAD company corrupts our commitment and compliance to the Lord’s commandments. Therefore, it’s important that we are proactive with the spiritual discipline of Sanctified and Spirit led Separation.
This will prevent us from succumbing to a sensual and seducing sentiment that leads us to sever our sweet fellowship with our Savior as well as being subjected to the following sinful influences:
Malignant and misleading ministers: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
The Gossipers/ whisperers: Proverbs 18:8
The Rageful and violent: Proverbs 22:24-25
So, in our final installment of a Sanctified and Spirit led Separation we will examine some additional negative influences and some spiritual applications that will assist us in answering the call of a Sanctified and Spirit led Separation.
According to our opening text a sanctified spirit led, and separated person will not join himself with just anyone for friendship and fellowship. He or she should be discerning when deciding their companionship and social connections. The scripture states that they would be cautious and examine their character and conduct connecting with them. An unsavory or wicked individual will encourage you and others like himself (ungodly) to engage in error, wander and walk away from God’s will for our lives.
Therefore, let’s look at some scripture that spells out the sin and the call for Sanctified and Spirit led Sanctification.
Proverbs 3:32 For the froward is an abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous. God detest devious individuals, but he is close and intimate with the righteous.
Proverbs 6:27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? If you cozy up with buddies that burn with the passions of the world you will get burnt.
1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. We have an obligation of separation from those who have a profession of faith, but their lives reflect a rejection of the faith.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Friendships with the enemies of God will encourage an unfaithfulness and hostility toward God and his will and his word.
In closing I pray that the Spirit of God will lovingly smite your soul and thereby show you the People, Places and Things in your life that calls you to act with some sanctified spirit led separation.
